The experienced professionals behind Commendable Rentals, bringing decades of expertise in hospitality, real estate, and property management.
Susan Doull
Susan Doull has many years of professional experience in service and hospitality industries, as well as in international real estate, in Europe and North America. She has a BA and MA in The History of Art from Wellesley College and the University of Toronto, respectively. She worked for Citibank in New York, and was a Pension Fund Portfolio Trader in Toronto. She later founded a successful Relocation Consulting business, Settler Services of New York, and subsequently founded and operated the Chateau de Remaisnil in France with her husband Adrian.
She and her husband, Adrian, created a hotel and conference centre at the Chateau de Remaisnil in France which they owned and managed for 15 years. She founded Commendable Rentals in 2005. She has served on the Board of VRMA for the last 9 years, and has played an active role in MPI (Meeting Planners International) and SITE (the Society of Incentive Travel Executives), serving as President of SITE France from 1995-97.
Adrian Doull
Adrian Doull, Susan's late husband, was instrumental in the development of Commendable Rentals and his experience was invaluable to its development. He was born and educated in South Africa, and lived and worked in 6 countries. After reading for the Bar in London, he worked in mergers and acquisitions in London, and then for the Anglo American Group in Johannesburg, where he was the Personal Assistant to Mr. Harry Oppenheimer, in Toronto, where he was the Chief Financial Officer, and in New York, where he was the Chief Operating Officer of the principal North American operating businesses of the Group.
Subsequently, he and Susan, created a hotel and conference centre at the Chateau de Remaisnil in France which they owned and managed for 15 years. He was thereafter Senior Director – Europe, Africa & Middle East, of the leading energy research and consulting firm, Cambridge Energy Research Associates, in Paris and Rome.
He is missed.
Adriana Caló, Partner
Adriana has been an important part of Commendable Rentals for 10 years and is now a full partner and integral part of the team. Born in Venezuela, with Italian ancestry, and an English-speaking education, she lived in Dominican Republic and now in Rome. She is trilingual English / Italian / Spanish and has a working knowledge of French.
She has an education in architecture having studied at the Universidad Iberoamericana de Santo Domingo and Università Roma Tre. Her architectural insights and passion for design enrich her approach to hospitality and interior design. She understands the character that Commendable Rentals seeks in properties.
Adriana brings years of expertise in service and hospitality. Her commitment to excellence combines with her deep cultural awareness. Her detail-oriented approach to everything, whether designing spaces or managing guest experiences, ensures exceptional results and has greatly contributed to the company's success.
